Hillary, Please!

At the risk of sounding too graphic, we're about to have Clinton rammed down our throats, but it's Hillary this time; so driven to wrap up the nomination that she's still willing to pander to the militaristic right. Her latest Senate vote giving Bushney a first step toward war with Iran may be the "close but no cigar" moment when liberals, feminists, and anti-war Democrats realize that Senator Clinton is using them. If Hillary's support for the Kyl-Lieberman amendment, opening the door for U.S. attacks on Iran, is her best judgment about resolving the Iraq war, then this nation deeply needs an agent of change. In this election, we really do need a "uniter and not a divider," and that includes the liar lying beside her. If she betrays the anti-war movement, the blue states could turn against her like the blue dress did for her advisor.

That's always been my problem with Hillary, too many advisers. Her entire Senate career seems one giant calibration in preparation for this presidential run. Though she has done some admirable things, her vote for the Iraq War lacked political courage, as does her ongoing attempt to justify it. But the co-sponsorship of an anti flag burning amendment to the Constitution was suck-up politics of the worst sort, and an insult to thoughtful people, especially in the Mid-South, who have followed her career since she was Arkansas' First Lady. She is so determined to become this century's new "Iron Lady," that she has torched her liberal values in favor of appealing to the electorate as the toughest, bare-knuckled, anti-terrorist who has never thrown an actual punch, this side of George Bush.

How else to explain this vote in favor of granting Bushney a toe-hold in Iran, despite her colleagues warnings, if not to show herself tough on security and somehow "supporting the troops?" Did the Senator learn nothing from her original vote, or has she forgotten the Tonkin Gulf Amendment giving LBJ power to unleash the military in Indochina? Since the current regime insists on following the Vietnam blueprint, they can be expected to use their new powers to initiate cross-border raids and secret bombings, guaranteed to take more civilian life regardless of the strategic targeting abilities. Mrs. Clinton is the only Democratic candidate voting in favor of the Lieberman sponsored nightmare, made doubly dubious by the secret and "Refuse to discuss it," bombings of Syrian facilities by Israel last month. Someone whispered to Hillary to be "Thatcheresque," and she has enabled Bush and Cheney to make more war.

Since Senator Clinton's ultimate goal is to be the first woman President, here's the sure fire way to de-rail her. Demand that Congressional Democrats join with John Conyers and Dennis Kucinich in immediately drawing up terms of impeachment for Dick Cheney for war-mongering and profiteering, as well as the many felonies committed while in office. Then, demand similar charges be filed against George Bush, including Abuse of Power and High Crimes and Misdemeanors. You could pick from the dozens that Chuckles doesn't even realize he has yet committed. After accepting Bush's resignation in order to "support the troops," the line of presidential succession goes to the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who would immediately be sworn in by Justice John Roberts. President Pelosi, the first woman and Italian president, could then run as the incumbent and pop Hillary's bubble. Insert your own sexual reference here, but the Clintons back in the White House with Lincoln Bedroom sleepovers for preferred corporate donors? Hillary, please!

Funny, I thought you LOVED the Clintons. Nice to see you have found the "light". She is very scary and even Bill scares me now.I'm not sure what to do? Where is Al Gore when you need him?

THankfully, that vote almost certainly has cost her Iowa, no matter how many $$$ she has. k

Saw a Kucinich for President bumper sticker in East Memphis last week! It brought a smile to my lips and a tear to my eye. What an intelligent Democrat. Too bad the party thinks they must be locked into Clinton.

President Pelosi?? Oh my gosh! NO!
Can you people find just one person with a brain and morals?

Two Adams, Two Bushes, Now two Clintons.

Why do these people think that the US Government is their family business?

A PMS-ing Hillary will start a war every month. That way we will know her menstrual cycle. I can hear the shrill bitch now...nuke 'em all, they just pissed me off!!

The anti flag burning vote soured me and I'm not sure that I can trust her now. She needs to understand that she becomes the President if she just follows the rational and intelligent fount of geopolitical and local savvy that the last Prez Clinton had and has. Neo-rightest bull shit won't play in a smart room.

Janitor, don't forget William Henry Harrison and Benjamin Harrison, who were grandfather/grandson, and Teddy Roosevelt and Franklin Roosevelt, who were cousins.

So while Bush/Bush did not pave new ground (see the Adams), Clinton/Clinton will (unless you count Edith Wilson who apparently pretty much ran the country after Woodrow Wilson's stoke).

Unless she royally screws something up, nothing will stop Hillary from getting the Democratic nomination. The only question is which Republican will run against her. I'm a Rudy man myself.

And Randy, which 67 Senators do you think would vote to convict, even if a majority of the House voted to impeach? It would be as big a waste of time as the Clinton impeachment, and every bit as bad for the country as that was.

Call me dumb, but would one of you ultra-pacifist explain to me how we can realistically deal with people who have declared that they are going to destroy us? Would any of you encourage Israel to take an ultra- pacifistic stand? I am not being catty, I am really trying to understand your point of view. And, another question...would you make any attempt to defend your own home and family? I know that some feel that it is better to die than to use violence even to protect themselves or their loved ones. I am just wondering where you folks fit on the spectrum and something about your philosophical point of view. Who knows, maybe I will convert.

Just two observations about Hillary...she's not black and she doesn't represent me! Sorry! I just wanted to contribte to the beautiful madness! Blessings & peace!

Yeah, but she is black-hearted. Does that count? She considers anyone who can pay their bills to be rich, so you middle-class folks had better start salting your money away in tax sheltered accounts. She (and the rest of the Democrats) is coming after your net worth in in a big way. We should have full-blown socialism after 8 years of Hillary rifling everyone's pocket books. That is, if America is still standing. You know how much regard Muslims have for women. They will doubly scorn her as our President. Terrorist attacks on our soil will probably be a common occurrence after she begins her own reign of terror.

This is in regard to Hillary's half-baked, lame-brained idea to give every new born in this country a $5000 savings bond. This is typical of the pseudo-do good, symbol above substance kind of thinking that comes from her ilk. First of all, what about all of the babies born into wealthy families. I guess those families can buy diamond pinky rings for their kids with that money. Secondly, talk about a magnet for everyone in the world looking for some free bucks from us suckers. Every pregnant woman in Mexico will line up at the border to drop their babies on American soil to collect. And this type of observation could go on and on. The Dems say that she is backing off of this idea, but you can bet your bottom dollar that they have lots more lame-brained ideas about ways to burn up our tax dollars once they take over the government. The bonds for babies is just a good example of their way of thinking...'Hey Hillary, throw another bale of the tax payers money on the fire...I feel a chill'.

To echo the black brothers who say that a white man can't adequately represent them, because they do not know the black man's experience, I protest against having Hillary as president, because she can not adequately represent the men of this country. She has never been in a man's skin and cannot know our peculiar needs, vulnerabilities, point of view, etc. I feel that we should be ruled by a computer. It is genderless, has no race or ethnicity, and will rule without prejudice or bias. We will be 'all watched over by machines of loving grace'(Richard Brautigan).
