Stick 'Em Up

The latest batch of ricin letters to public officials came from- surprise - Texas. One tainted missive was sent to the president and two others were sent to New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and to the office of his advocacy group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, an organization of seven hundred mayors nationwide urging Congress to expand background checks for gun sales. The packages contained a threatening letter which read;

"You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns. Anyone wants to come to my house will get shot in the face. The right to bear arms is my constitutional, God-given right and I will exercise that right till the day I die. What's in this letter is nothing compared to what I've got planned for you."
Let me ask you something Skippy, who are you going to shoot first? The mailman? The UPS driver? The pizza guy? Let's say your most paranoid delusions are correct and Obama really is coming for your guns. Do you have a grenade launcher, because, as we all know, Obama has drones. Have you acquired a bazooka? How's that assault rifle going to fend off the  M1 Abrams tank rolling up your driveway? And in which obscure scripture did you find a passage where God gave you the right to own a gun? I must have missed that class during my parochial school education. I heard things like "Love Ye one another," and "What you have done to the least of these, you have also done unto me." I never heard, "If someone slaps you on one cheek, pull out your nine millimeter and shoot them in the face." How dare some hate-infused, delusional, would-be assassin bring God into his deadly actions, and what makes him any different from an Al Qaeda terrorist? Just after these letters were intercepted, another toxin-laced letter addressed to the president was discovered sent from Spokane, WA. Do these crazy bastards believe that the president opens his own mail? The New York letter was opened in a biochemical containment box, but three officers who examined the letter suffered minor symptoms. The Center for Disease Control stated that contact with ricin causes difficulty breathing, vomiting, and redness of the skin. The brazen toxic-outlaws believe they're delivering a blow to a tyrannical government, when actually, they are making a teenage intern in the mailroom nauseous.

Last week's letters were just the latest in a string of similar incidents involving sending toxins through the mail. A Washington state man was arrested last week for mailing ricin to a federal judge and a package sent to Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane was also discovered to contain the poison. Last month, a blockbuster local crime-drama broke out when ricin-laced letters addressed to the President, a federal judge, and a state senator were discovered to have been mailed from Memphis. The FBI arrested part-time Elvis impersonator Kevin Curtis, but quickly shifted their attention to his cyber-nemesis, a Tupelo karate instructor named J. Everett Dutschke. The two men had been having an online feud, mainly on Facebook, that's too convoluted to explain, but it was Dutschke who was arrested when traces of risin were found in his Taekwondo studio. And this man claims membership in Mensa. The Bloomberg letters were traced to New Boston, Texas, where the FBI arrested Nathaniel Richardson, an Army veteran employed by the Defense Department, after receiving a tip from his wife who called police after finding a Tupperware container with ricin in the refrigerator. If that weren't enough, the wife is actress Shannon Rogers Guess, best known for a part in The Blind Side, and her role as a zombie on The Walking Dead. Richardson is pointing the finger at her, claiming she bought ricin-rich Castor beans over the internet with a credit card to frame him.

These bizarre culprits are merely the dull tip of the spear when it comes to the gun-crazed freaks that live among us. The NRA has morphed from an organization that taught firearm safety and responsible gun ownership into a lobbying group for the armaments industry. Their heartless hysteria after the Newtown child slaughter caused gullible gun owners to panic that their rights were in jeopardy, especially after the NRA participated in spreading the patently false rumor that there was a government plot to buy up the civilian supply of ammunition after a media-induced run on bullets created a shortage. Unable to see through the Fox News and hate-radio propaganda that closing gun-show loopholes will lead to Blackhawk helicopters over Shreveport, these angry citizens live in fear of their own government and walk around all day with violent fantasies floating through their fevered minds. If you are told all day by right-wing media that you are at war with your government over your basic freedoms, then sending a toxin-laden letter to the chief executive doesn't make you a terrorist. In your own mind, it makes you a patriot.

On the morning of November 22, 1963, the Dallas Morning News ran an advertisement from a right-wing group featuring President John F. Kennedy on a wanted poster with the slogan "Wanted for Treason," along with a list of his fictitious misdeeds, including, "appointing anti-Christians to Federal office." I've always wondered if the newspaper regretted their bad judgement considering Kennedy died that day. Similar lies about President Obama have been accepted as fact by a large number of people who were inclined to dislike him in any case. California Assemblyman Tim Donnelly recently said on Christian radio that the unfettered possession of firearms was "absolutely essential to living the way God intended for us to live." This sort of disinformation comes from a belief that the Constitution was divinely inspired and as such, is a perfect document, much like the scriptures. So, when a person who watches the Fox News bile all day and finally goes insane with paranoia, why should it be surprising when they decide to take action against their government and its officials. When a group implies that its members need to take up arms against their government, its called treason. And any cabal of weapons peddlers who advocate the arming of citizens against their elected officials need to be classified as a terrorist organization.

Yes, Randy, there are among us disappointed, frustrated, angry fellows willing to resort to cruel, frightening, dishonorable means for lashing out against those whom they consider, rightly, wrongly, or somewhere in between, to be those responsible for preventing the world from being as they believe it should be.
Yet, let us not lose sight of the larger problem as described in this portion of an essay I read just before reading yours.

President Nixon was driven from office because he lied about when he learned of a burglary for which he was not responsible. President Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives for lying about a sexual affair with a White House intern, Monica Lewinsky.

President george w. bush took america to wars based on obvious lies, and so did president obama. Both administrations are guilty of war crimes and almost every possible infraction of constitutional and international law. Yet, no presstitute member of the media would dare mention impeachment, and the House would never bring the charge.

There is no doubt whatsoever that in the 21st century presidents, their lawyers, Justice (sic) Department officials, and CIA and black-op operatives have broken law after law, and there is no accountability. For the presstitutes, this is a non-issue. “Rule of law, Constitution? We don’t need no stinking rule of law or Constitution.”

For the presstitutes, the bought-and-paid for-whores for evil, the issues are obama’s stable poll numbers; teenage girls arrested for fighting at a kindergarten graduation ceremony; ”Microsoft’s Bill Gates extended his lead over Mexico’s Carlos Slim as the world’s richest person,” “the $14 million-dollar girl: Beyonce rakes it in.”

Two things:

1. If the U.S.A. Constitution were perfect it wouldn't have so many amendments.

2. If toting guns made people safer, we'd be among the safest country in the world instead at the other end of the spectrum.

If you are not delusional, you are dishonest. You make a big case for treason and the overthrow of the U.S. government based upon the actions of a very few nut cases. And,then you make the nut cases look typical of all conservatives. You claim that watching Fox News can make someone a deranged hater of government. And, you call yourself a journalist. What a laugh. You are very bad advertising for the U of M journalism School. Anyone with a grain of sense can see that you are a small-time, deluded muckraker, and a sorry joke of yellow journalist.

Obama and the crooks that he has surrounded himself with have carried their Chicago-style thug politics too far. They govern like gangsters. Apparently, Obama's liberal, leftist followers say, 'What's so bad about a dictatorship? No one can manage our lives as well as the government'.

Should the American government become despotic, anti-Constitutional, and unresponsive to the citizenry, like it is now, then it is the duty of the citizenry to overthrow that government. Re-read the Declaration of Independence. However, this is wasted advise to one who admittedly despises the Founding Fathers of this country and the founding documents upon which the American government was originally based.

"He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences
For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:
For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.
He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.
He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions..."

You are such a moron.

Anon 4:19, of what use would it be to overthrow a puppet? Unless you go after the ignorant, arrogant, greedy power elite making all the influential, societal decisions, the "puppeteer" will simply place a different puppet on his hand. We the people must take away the power from the monied overlords. We can do it.

performs, you are absolutely correct. You deserve to be congratulated for seeing through the bullshit. I believe as you do. And, Alexander...what a waste of your time keyboarding all of that crap. Can't you be more brief with your insults? What a mind numbed bore. But then you do feed from this sophomoric trough.

Alexander Fleming said...

No insult intended, Jerry. I can’t insult a gorilla with a banana. However, I’m happy to be brief.

You stated, unequivocally, that, “Should the American government become despotic, anti-Constitutional, and unresponsive to the citizenry, like it is now (emphasis mine) that it is the duty of the citizenry to overthrow the government.

You then suggested that I re-read the Declaration of Independence.
Well, I did not have to re-read it, to know that the operative phrase that you have taken out of context, which I am delighted to repeat here, says that, “…when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

That being said, I inspected the “long train of abuses” enumerated in the Declaration, attributed to the British Crown, which comprised the causes which impelled the Colonies to the separation.

You know, the stuff you just called crap. Right out of the founding document that you were lambasting Sput for allegedly, “admittedly” despising. Which, by the way he did not. But it would certainly appear that you did.

Now, Jerry, what, in that “long train of abuses and usurpations” listed in the Declaration is paralleled in our government today? Has Obama or the Federal Government committed even ONE of those things? Last time I checked, making somebody buy health insurance, or favoring the regulation of gun commerce and ownership, as egregious as these things are to some people, don’t appear to rise to the level of the depradations of King George III.

With, or without your permission, I will quote from the other Founding Document, the Constitution, regarding the definition of treason:

“Article 3, Section 3 – Treason”

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.”

It is amusing how you are so ready to accuse people you don’t like of treason, when it is obvious that you don’t even know what it is. Or to repeatedly call the president a criminal and a gangster. I don’t think that you even know what that is. Because if you did, you would be alarmed by the real gangsters, criminals and traitors that are trying to overthrow this country. And they’re not your precious socialists.
Should I conclude that you favor armed rebellion against the United States because you don’t like Obama, Jerry? Good luck with that. But don’t presume to school me in patriotism, you poor, naïve, deluded little man.

Alex, your childish retort is the equivalent of stamping your foot and giving me the finger in the school yard. Your response was a masterpiece of arrested development under the guise of intelligent discourse. It may have hurt if I respected you, but I don't. We are not yet to the point for the need for open rebellion (which will be pointless now), but we are heading that way, increment at a time. Ultimately, both parties are guilty. I do agree that the socialists are not the basic problem. Our problems stem more from the international banking cartel called by some the oligarchy. I do believe, along with many others, that Obama is just one of their puppets, and like 'performs' said, they will just put another one in place after they have made their use of Obama and his leftist regime. Hillary will be the next puppet. Ever read Horowitz's 'Shadow Party'? Don't tell me that you know more about the depredations of the Left than Horowitz. Again, we are heading for a showdown between those who want a constitutional republic and those who want a Marxist state. It will take a little longer for the drama to unfold, but right now it looks pretty bad for those who want to return to a constitutional republic. That is beginning to be an 'in name only' reality. As an aside, the Russians laugh at our notion that we are still a free country. They can't believe that we are sliding into the same morass that they did. I, for one, believe that the game is over. If you don't know these things, 'you don't know jack', but rave on. I am beginning to enjoy reading inanities from one who can't discern which way the wind is blowing and whose head has obviously been twisted and fed with meaningless froth from the mouth.

Yesterday, I just happened to catch a portion of an interview of Peter Linebaugh. Who talked about William Morris (19th century Britain), whose values and ideas about society and this world of fellow beings match mine closely. Googling WM, I came across something I had never known about but is most likely the ideology that fits my values and worldview. I copy it here:

Libertarian socialism (sometimes called social anarchism[1][2] or left-libertarianism)[3][4] is a group of political philosophies that promote a non-hierarchical, non-bureaucratic society without private property in the means of production. Libertarian socialists believe in converting present-day private productive property into common or public goods, while retaining respect for personal property.[5] Libertarian socialism is opposed to coercive forms of social organization. It promotes free association in place of government and opposes the social relations of capitalism, such as wage labor.[6] The term libertarian socialism is used by some socialists to differentiate their philosophy from state socialism,[7][8] and by some as a synonym for left anarchism.[1][2][9]
Adherents of libertarian socialism assert that a society based on freedom and equality can be achieved through abolishing authoritarian institutions that control certain means of production and subordinate the majority to an owning class or political and economic elite.[10] Libertarian socialism also constitutes a tendency of thought that promotes the identification, criticism, and practical dismantling of illegitimate authority in all aspects of life.[11][12][13][14][15][16][17]
Accordingly, libertarian socialists believe that "the exercise of power in any institutionalized form—whether economic, political, religious, or sexual—brutalizes both the wielder of power and the one over whom it is exercised".[18] Libertarian socialists generally place their hopes in decentralized means of direct democracy such as libertarian municipalism, citizens' assemblies, trade unions, and workers' councils.[19]

Why, no, Jerry. I wasn't giving you the finger. I was just pointing out the absurdity of what you were saying. Sorry you didn't like it.

On the other hand, repeatedly calling our host here a "fourflusher", "liar", "dishonest", among other things, well, I believe that any sane person would consider that to display a distinct lack of respect.

Also, referring to the opinions of others as making you want to vomit, or alluding to excrement oozing out of their mouth... I'm willing to give you a pass on that, as long as it's because you have an affliction, like Tourette's Syndrome, or something like that.

Otherwise, I'd have to say that it is you who are the finger-man around here, in our little sophomoric trough.

And I did read Horowitz's/Poe's book. What a waste of ink. Ponderous, innaccurate, conspiracy fantasy. It reads like a tract. Just some more of the same sour celery tonic you've been touting here for years. But I'm sure it made David H a pile of money.

Alex, I would love to see a debate between you and Horowitz. You should start by telling him that his book 'Shadow Party' is "a waste of ink. Ponderous, inaccurate, conspiracy fantasy". It would be a hoot to watch him eat your ass alive and expose what a know-nothing nincompoop you are. And believe me your statement about Horowitz does just that. No need for further discourse. I prefer debating knowledgeable people. Even 'performs' puts you to shame in the knowledge department. Start reading some good books and then come back as one who actually knows something.

I don't believe that Sputnik is wittingly dishonest. He just wears the same blinders that every narrow-minded, bigoted leftist ideologue wears. You see his type on TV all the time. They are the ones who never give a nanometer to anyone who disagrees with them regardless of evidence to the contrary. They just spin and blow smoke harder. I avoid conservatives who are this extreme. I can at least admit that liberals have done a lot of good things (as well as the bad) over the years. He seems to be unaware of how the fact that he is an ideologue undermines his credibility and creates for him a very narrow audience who think like him. But, that is his business. I just try to uncover the bullshit so that things can be slightly more balanced, but I actually know that I will go nowhere with confirmed leftist ideologues. I just have time on my hands.

By the way, Alex, what exactly are the absurdities that I have been saying? Perhaps I can illuminate you in regard to some things of which you have been heretofore ignorant. Nothing wrong with being ignorant, because we are all ignorant in some areas. If you will show me where your academic inadequacies are, maybe I can illuminate those benighted areas. That is the problem with a closed ideological mind set. You don't know anything about so much because you don't really want to know. Some people who have had their life-long, cherished archetypes trashed have become alcoholics and even suicides. So, I will go slowly and gently with you.

Here's fair and balanced. The George W. Bush Administration was also a criminal enterprise. Obama just took what Dubya started and amplified on that. In fact, there is plenty of evidence that high crimes have been committed in most every administration since Teddy Roosevelt. The uninformed public would be aghast if they knew how many American conflicts since Teddy Roosevelt were actually started by American false flag schemes, like the Viet Nam war It's no wonder that the world hates us. We pat ourselves on the back in regard to foreign aid, but much of our foreign aid is stolen by dictators and never reaches the people, but no one in our government seems to mind. The American citizens have been fed the rah-rah stuff in public schools. Little of it is true. If the truth were known the citizenry would be besieging Washington, which is the center of organized evil in the world. They have screwed over just about everyone.

performs said...

Anon, to my mind it is not "the government" in Washington made up of an organized group of politicians that is the source of evil. These folks come and go through the "revolving door" system we now have. They are either indoctrinated into the corrupt culture or removed. This whole process is much more subtle and sinister, and you are right that hiding it all from the citizenry, but also the players, and the hearts and deluded minds of the major elite club members, is the nut we need to crack.
Confessions of an Economic Hit Man by John Perkins p xii

Some would blame our current problems on an organized conspiracy. I wish it were so simple. Members of a conspiracy can be rooted out and brought to justice. This system, however, is fueled by something far more dangerous than conspiracy. It is driven not by a small band of men but by a concept that has become accepted as gospel: the idea that all economic growth benefits humankind and that the greater the growth, the more widespread the benefits. This belief also has a corollary: that those people who excel at stoking the fires of economic growth should be exalted and rewarded, while those born at the fringes are available for exploitation.

The concept is of course, erroneous. We know that in many countries economic growth benefits only a small potion of the population and may in fact result in increasingly desperate circumstances for the majority. This effect is reinforced by the corollary belief that the captains of industry who drive this system should enjoy a special status, a belief that is the root of many of our current problems and is perhaps also the reason why conspiracy theories abound. When men and women are rewarded for greed, greed becomes a corrupting motivator. When we equate the gluttonous consumption of the earth's resources with a status approaching sainthood, when we teach our children to emulate people who live unbalanced lives, and when we define huge sections of the population as subservient to an elite minority, we ask for trouble. And we get it.

Anonymous said...

performs, I agree with you. The problem is much more subtle and sinister than we know. I am encouraged that you know that. But, this guy is in error if he thinks that all conspiracies can be outed. There is the spiritual domain which drives the material domain. True spiritual conspiracy is impossible to 'out'. As an aside, Jews and Christians do believe in the biblically revealed conspiracy of Satan against God and man. But, I won't go there. But we do know that spiritual evil can affect the minds of large numbers of people and drive them to do some common evil (genocide, slavery, oppression, etc.), but this 'conspiracy' can never be empirically proven. Personally, I believe that spiritual evil drives those at the top of the global Money/Power Pyramid. Exactly who the elements are that do the bidding of evil is up for debate. I do believe that some sort of alliance among international bankers is somewhere in the mix. Big money can move big men to do terrible things. Money runs the show...it buys the politicians who run the governments who run the people. I don't believe in the 'history is a series of random events' theory. I believe that you will get truer history if you could just follow the money.

Rule of law lies on the garbage heap, as now the USA clearly function on the rule of power, influence, and manipulation. Land of the buzzword swallowers and home of the fantasy weavers. A major enlightenment is required as the full blown endarkenment reaches its peak.

What is the Government’s Agenda?
Paul Craig Roberts

It has been public information for a decade that the US government secretly, illegally, and unconstitutionally spies on its citizens. Congress and the federal courts have done nothing about this extreme violation of the US Constitution and statutory law, and the insouciant US public seems unperturbed.

You are right again, performs. I am going to have to pay closer attention to what you have to say on the issue of the power that moves history. In the spirit of full disclosure, my bias leans toward spiritual causation. Most people who serve evil are unwitting puppets, but some know fully well whom they serve. The evil puppets are currently winning the battle, but I believe that in the end 'Good' will prevail. In the mean time things are going to get downright horrific, so tighten your chin strap.

Here is the fundamental political scam. Republicans play the roll of the lesser evil, Democrats play the roll of the greater evil. So, either way you vote things continue to get more evil. It happens faster under Democrat rule and a little more slowly under Republican rule, but in the end they are two hands which wash one another...Tweedle Dee and Tweedle-Dum. And in the mean time the people suffer under the depredations of both parties of crooks. It is a shell game driven by money and power and to hell with the common man who plays the ignorant and hapless pawn in all of this. MONEY RUNS THE SHOW!!! A small example is the bogus Al Gore. He owns two mansions and has a private jet. He wants the little people to shrink their carbon footprint while his carbon footprint remains monstrous. This type of thing is common with limousine liberals. He wants Cap and Trade simply because he will be a major share-holder in the Chicago Carbon Exchange...if Cap and Trade ever materializes. If it does, he becomes a billionaire. Of course his black heart will bleed for the little man...NOT! He is just typical of the criminals who run the show and he has lots of people fooled.
